Patina is a family-owned estate nestled in the rich volcanic slopes of Mt Canobolas near Orange, New South Wales. Owner and winemaker, Gerald Naef, blends science and technology with age-old tradition to create complex flavours forged by the elements of nature. His Patina Wine represents the complexity and elegance of cool climate wine defined by nature and his personal signature.

Colour: Deep red with hints of brick red.
Palate: Packed with complexity the front palate has abundant dark ripe juicy fruit with spicy cinnamon and cloves becoming more apparent mid palate leading to a dry peppery finish with well integrated cedary oak.
Food Matches: Goes well with a beautiful sunset and it’s an excellent accompaniment to chicken, duck, lamb, pork and pasta.
The grapes were picked quite ripe with some raisining of the more sun exposed fruit. It was de-stemmed, cold soaked and allowed to spontaneously ferment with wild yeast from the vineyard.
After one month extraction of flavours from the skins it was pressed off and matured for 18 months in a combination of new and two year old French oak to add character and structure to the palate. Alc/Vol: 13.9%
